Your winter day trip takes you along the Salzach River valley past many of Austria's ski resorts. Near Schladming, the location of the 1982 World Ski Championships, you can climb up to the "Steirische Ramsau" at 3.281 feet (1.000 meters) above sea level at the base of the one of the massive Alpine glaciers – the Dachstein.
In the village there is time for a walk in the cool icy air and for lunch at one of the local inns. Your guide will advise you on all the possibilities. Then you can hear the bells ringing as the sleds zip across the field and your sleigh ride begins!
