On the Phillip Island Evening Tour and its Penguin Parade, you'll leave Melbourne late in the afternoon following the Yarra River through the leafy eastern suburbs of the city of Melbourne and to Phillip Island. You'll learn about Phillip Island's wildlife at the information center and at dawn see the little penguins (the smallest of the penguin species) leaving the ocean to return to their burrows in the sand dunes.
You'll also have the opportunity to see migratory shearwaters (muttonbirds) and other seabirds during this tour, and learn about conservation and environmental issues involved in protecting Phillip Island wildlife.
