'Via Ferrata' is Italian for 'Railway' and is actually a vertical track with cables attached for protection and metal ladder rungs to help you navigate the rock.
Via Ferrata climbing does not require any special skills or previous experience. This exciting activity is suitable for all levels. Your guide will give you detailed instructions on the use of suitable equipment and technique for climbing. All technical equipment is included.
route: A moderate 4 hour tour combining glacier hiking with rock climbing. Negotiate your way through the Whistler Glacier using crampons and an ice ax at the base of the Via Ferrata route. Using a special rope system you strap onto the cable and climb the rock head wall using a series of iron ladder rungs which will take you to the top of Whistler Peak.
This tour is suitable for children 14 years and older. No climbing experience is necessary. Maximum access ticket required.
