Bavarian Mountains and Salt Mines
Leaving Salzburg the journey takes you along the King's Lake river to the picturesque Alpenstrasse. Upon arrival at the mines, slip into traditional miners' clothing and enter the mines and hear historical and legendary tales of the fascinating underworld. Using the same method as the hundreds of miners of old, descend to the caves, the magical world beneath the earth's surface. You end your adventure with a raft tour on the famous salt lake, accompanied by eerie mystical sounds.
The Original Tour of "The Sound of Music"
Highlights of the original 'Sound of Music' tour, recommended by Maria von Trapp, include a visit to the Mirabell Gardens, where Maria and the children danced to 'Do-Re-Mi', and the chance to see the his wedding church in Mondsee. Between filming locations, you can kick back and listen to the film's famous songs and lyrics, including 'Edelweiss', 'Sixteen Going On Seventeen' and of course the glorious song and title track 'The Sound of Music'. The tour also passes by historical and architectural monuments of the city of Salzburg, as well as part of the Picturesque Lake District.
