Enjoy the unique experience of off-road mountain biking through the vineyards of Stellenbosch in South Africa on this half-day tour. The bike ride is mostly done off-road through private vineyards, hills and along farm roads. This fully guided tour includes bike and helmet rental, snack, bottled water, and wine tastings at two different wineries. The maximum number of participants per guide is 10 and the maximum number of participants on an excursion is 30 people (with three guides included).
Your Tour Your tour will begin at the Asara Winery, beautifully situated on a hill. Enjoy the magnificent view of the Stellenbosch region, with dams, hills and mountains in the background. After meeting your guide and being outfitted with an ATV mountain bike and helmet, begin riding an off-road trail that descends through the vineyards.
Pass through another wine estate called Neethlingshof, one of the largest wine estates in the Stellenbosch region. Then, depending on the ability of the cycling group and the weather, a wine tasting will be carried out at the LovanE winery. LovanE is a small but authentic wine estate where you will taste 5 different wines.
After the tasting, you will cycle along an uphill road for about an hour to reach the top of the hill. You will have the opportunity to admire the sights of the region along the way, and if the weather is good, see the mountainous region of Drakenstein.
Then a downhill ride takes you through beautiful vineyards and wineries like Boschkloof and Thandi. Gradually return to your starting point at Asara Winery where you can enjoy your second wine tasting. At Asara, you'll taste 5 wines and have the option to purchase one or more (own expense) of their wine bottles at the end of your 3-hour ATV tour.
