- Immerse yourself in the past, the time of a historical circuit
In 1854, Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria married Elisabeth, who with her charm and natural grace quickly became a fairy tale princess in the eyes of the public. Empress Elisabeth of Austria, affectionately known to millions as “Sissi,” was as smart as she was extravagant, and was decades ahead of her time.
Even a century after his death, Sisi still remains in the popular imagination. This can be seen with the popularity of Sissi films and the musical “Elisabeth”, which ran for years in Vienna. The sites where the Empress lived, including the Hofburg, continue to attract tourists from around the world.
Sissi was also the best in the world in women's riding. She trained hard to become a professional sportswoman and achieve this goal. If you are in Hofburg, you will have the opportunity to observe the formation of the famous "Lipizzaner horses", where the tradition of the High School of Riding is still cherished (entrance fees not included).
