The history and legends of this beautiful part of Austria come to life as you make your way to charming old villages, steep vineyards and mysterious castles. Dürnstein Castle is well known, where Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned while awaiting his ransom to arrive from England.
Then you will enjoy a boat ride on the Danube from Melk to Splitz, passing through the heart of the Wachau Valley to the old wine town of Krems. To complete your superb day trip, you will visit the magnificent Benedictine Abbey of Melk, a pearl of the Austrian Baroque style.

Please note : the boat trip (1h30) operates from April 10 to October 26 only. During the winter months, lunch at the Baren Zum Schwarzen in Emmersdorf will be included in your tour price as a substitute.
