1st day . Uluru Base (Ayers Rock) Sunset Tour
You will arrive at Ayers Rock Airport by 13:00 p.m. to be transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, you will visit the Maruku Cooperative Cultural and Arts and Crafts Center. Join a guided walk at the Mutitjulu pond, followed by the guided visit to the Mala Promenade. You will learn about the legends, geology and flora of the region and explore the Kantju Gorge. In the afternoon, enjoy a glass of wine as you watch the Uluru sunset. Admire the changing colors of Uluru as the sun descends below the desert plain. In the evening, perhaps enjoy an Uluru Aussie BBQ (own expense, payable direct). You have the choice of accommodation between standard, first class or deluxe accommodation category.
2nd day . Sunrise, Kata Tjuta (Olgas), the “canyon of kings”
Get up early to see the Uluru sunrise. Walk around Kata Tjuta, a magnificent group of 36 rock domes that dominate the western horizon of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Join a walk at Walpa (Olga) Gorge, where some of these plants are so rare they are only found on the distinct sandstone formations. In the afternoon, travel to Watarrka National Park, the home of the “canyon of kings”. Accommodation is only available at Kings Canyon Resort.
3rd day. A walk at “canyon of kings”, Alice Springs
In the morning, enjoy a guided walk around the rim of the awe-inspiring 'Kings Canyon' for spectacular views of the canyon walls. Then, take a stroll through the ancient Lost City and the lush Garden of Eden to a watering hole (requires a good degree of fitness). Another less strenuous walk along the floor of the canyon is also available. This sweet alternative plunges you into the canyon between the walls. Continue after lunch (own expense) to Alice Springs, arriving 18:30 PM
