Day 1: Adelaide – Kangaroo Island – (L)
After an early departure from your Adelaide or Glenelg hotel, relax on a scenic coach tour between Adelaide and Cape Jervis on the Fleurieu Peninsula, where you'll take the 45-minute ferry crossing to Kangaroo Island. If you choose the helicopter, you will be picked up from your Adelaide hotel and transferred to the airport for a 30-minute flight to Kangaroo Island.
Your guide will meet you at Penneshaw Port, and give you an overview of Kangaroo Island, its history and surroundings. Your 4WD drive across the island will take you through several habitats, including eucalyptus forests home to echidnas, wallabies and a wide variety of birds. You will discover that many species are unique to the island.
You can also visit the Seal Bay Conservation Park to see the colony of sea lions basking on the beach and the sand dunes. As you admire the sea lions, your small group guide will provide essential information about the lives of these spectacular marine animals.
After a gourmet picnic breakfast with wine at a historic bush estate, head out on a guided bush tour or stroll the beach. Then opt for a 4X4 tour across the island, to observe koalas and cockatoos. Enjoy this drive to the north coast of Kangaroo Island, where you may see the Tamar wallaby, unique to the region. At the end of the day, you will discover the kangaroos leaving their refuge to graze the pastures at dusk, before returning to your accommodation where you will spend the night.

Day 2: Kangaroo Island - Adelaide (L)
Start the second day of your Kangaroo Island adventure with a visit to Flinders Chase National Park on the west coast of the island. You will have the unique opportunity to see kangaroos, wallabies and birds in their natural habitat, and see a colony of New Zealand fur seals sunbathing at Cap de Couedic.
Walk along the Remarkable Rocks at the edge of the cliffs, and along the Admiral's Arch promenade to watch seals swimming in the waves. After a gourmet lunch with wine in a beautiful bush setting where adorable sleeping koalas dwell atop the trees, you'll learn about kangaroos and other animals at Kelly Hill Conservation Park.
Your small-group 4WD tour of Kangaroo Island ends with a drive to Kingscote Airport for a 4-minute flight if you've chosen the flight option or to Penneshaw to catch the ferry to Cape Jervis and the bus to Adelaide.
