The flamboyant Henry VIII is most associated with this majestic palace, which he extended and developed after its acquisition in the 1520s. Occupants of the many royal palaces ensured the palace had fabulous furnishings, tapestries and paintings. It is set in beautiful formal gardens, which include the famous maze and the large vine.
Hampton Court Palace has designated a Family Room, where parents and young children are welcome to take a rest at the palace, where there is play equipment suitable for children under the age of five. The Family Trails, children's guide around the palace are available at the information center.
A stroller and a lift are available at the palace if you wish to access the upper floor without using the stairs.
Hampton Court Palace is half an hour from central London by direct train, and it's a great place to spend a relaxing afternoon out of town!
