Course of the hot air balloon flight in Mallorca

How is a hot air balloon flight? Here is the story of my activity carried out at least in September with Mallorca Balloons.
The flight being scheduled for sunrise, we arrive early in the morning, before sunrise of course, around 5:30 am.
We meet the people who will carry out the balloon flight with us and sign the various forms and waivers.
Depending on the wind, the hot air balloon pilot decides where to take off. It can be done several tens of kilometers away, as directly at the meeting place. This will be our case.

The first step will therefore be to inflate the balloon. The canvas is unfolded on the ground, the basket hung up and a huge fan is placed at the level of the opening of the canvas to let air in. Once the canvas is slightly inflated, the air is then heated by the burner so that the hot-air balloon goes vertical.

The balloon is finally ready for departure. We climb into one of the compartments of the gondola. There are 5 of them, our hot air balloon can accommodate about twenty people.
Once everyone is on board, the air is heated again so that the hot air balloon can take off. The takeoff is very smooth, you will not even realize that it has left the ground.
The ascent is gentle and, very quickly, you will appreciate the calm of the altitude and enjoy a magnificent view.

The flight takes about an hour. An hour during which you will appreciate, with the pilot's explanations, the magnificent, breathtaking landscapes and will fly over houses, fields, pass not far from the town of Manacor. The pilot will play with the altitude of the balloon, rising from time to time much higher to, sometimes, graze the tops of the trees.

It will then be time to land, after an hour that will have seemed to pass at full speed.
Once the landing field has been found, the vehicle which permanently follows the balloon awaits us. The landing is a little hectic but goes very well and after several bounces on the ground, we are back on dry land.

It will then be time to fold up the canvas of the hot air balloon and take the road back to our starting point.

After the flight, a strange tradition related to hot air balloon baptism is proposed to us. Lined up side by side, head down, a few drops of champagne are placed on our heads. The diplomas of our hot air balloon flight baptism are given to us then it is time to enjoy the breakfast offered by the flight team.

My opinion on the hot air balloon flight in Mallorca

This hot air balloon flight in Mallorca was my first flight. Before take-off, I felt a little apprehensive, particularly linked to vertigo. Apprehension very quickly dissipated after a few minutes of flight. In a hot air balloon, vertigo is not felt. I was pleasantly surprised by the calm and the softness of the movements of the balloon, very stable, silent (except for the burner). This flight gives you the opportunity to contemplate Mallorca from the sky and offers you breathtaking landscapes. An activity that I highly recommend, especially at sunrise, which offers you a fantastic show.
