Departing from Barcelona, you will head to Girona, a city with a long history, which is said to have been founded around 76 BC. The Onyar River sharply divides the city in two, separating the old town from the new. The town has a rich architectural heritage and you can see evidence in the cathedral of its founding in 1038, a Roman walls which you can stroll along when they are open or stroll through the narrow streets of the old town.
Continue to the Sanctuary dels Angels, this location offers a panoramic view of the whole region of Girona, it is the place Salvador Dali chose for his wedding. From here you can go to Pals, a small town that grew out of a fortress. Stop here for lunch before heading to the fishing village of Calella de Palafrugell.
The clean lines of the whitewashed houses here is evident here and you will have time to explore the rocky coastline or perhaps even take a dip in the inviting waters before returning to Barcelona.
