Although being one of the smallest islands of the Cyclades, Mykonos is very well known for its treasures of natural beauty, its rich history, its cosmopolitan character combined with an intense nightlife, but also for its local color.
The island has many beaches where you can enjoy the sun and the atmosphere. Be sure to arrive early especially during the summer months. Watch the sunset from the waterfront at one of the many waterfront bars in the Little Venice neighborhood, or, dance at the clubs until dawn.
If you are looking for a bit of history and culture, the island has five museums, you can visit as well a beautiful church. The Church of Panagia Paraportiani is located beyond the Delos Ferry quay on the way to Little Venice.
The sacred island of Delos is right next to Mykonos. The island is one of the most important archaeological sites in Greece, and certainly the most important in the Cyclades. Ferries are at the western end of the harbor and can be booked directly.
