Get off the Eurostar in Lille where you will be greeted by a French specialist battlefield guide.
On the day of your hike you will see the Salient, in the company of a first class guide, some of the most significant surviving sites, the German Cemetery at Langemark, the area of the first gas attack by Vancouver Corner , where the flamethrowers that were introduced in modern warfare, John McRae Essex Farm site, Hooge Crater and museum, Passendale area and Tyne Cot cemetery.
You will traverse the lunar landscape of Battlefield Hill 60 and discover dozens of monuments to British, Australian and Canadian regiments. You can also spend time in Ypres itself with the opportunity to visit the Chapel of St. George, the Menen (Menin) Gate Memorial.
