En route to Leeds Castle, you will pass through the Greenwich, which has a rich maritime history. You will see the National Maritime Museum, the Royal Naval College and the Old Royal Observatory.
Once you arrive at Leeds Castle, you'll quickly understand why Lord Conway described it as the “most beautiful castle in the world” – set in the middle of a natural lake, surrounded by 500 acres of parkland and gardens. Your Boxing Day excursion gives you the chance to explore the castle before the doors open for the general public, so you can experience that atmosphere of tranquility.
After a visit to the chateau there will be time to explore the grounds, where you will find the "Lady Baillie garden" with a view of the lake, an aviary and a maze.
In the afternoon, your tour will continue to Canterbury, where you can enjoy a two-course Fish & Chips lunch at Pantelli's restaurant. Continue to Canterbury Cathedral – the most important church in the Anglican faith in the world. You will be surprised by its amazing architecture, dating back more than 900 years.
Finally, you'll go to Dover to see the famous white chalk cliffs and Dover Castle, with views of the bustling harbor and the English Channel. Enjoy the fresh sea air before heading back to London.
