Tips for attending World Expo Dubai
From October 1 and for a period of six months, the Dubai World Expo will welcome hundreds of thousands of visitors every day. Originally scheduled for October 2020, the exhibition has been postponed from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022 due to Covid-19.
The theme of this exhibition is “Connecting minds, building the future”. A strong theme emphasizing the fact that we are creating a better future together, and which is totally adapted to the city of Dubai, resolutely turned towards tomorrow.
Three sub-themes will be addressed during this exhibition, each represented by a “district” on the site: sustainability, opportunity and mobility. In each district, many pavilions will present different interactive exhibitions related to these themes.
The Universal Exhibition of Dubai is installed on a site built especially for this occasion, which is easily accessible from the city:
- by metro, just take the Red line then change to the new Route 2020 line which will take you directly to the expo site;
- free buses will be made available to the public, and several stops will be distributed in the city to take them;
- if you don't want to take public transport, you can order a taxi;
- if you are driving, ample parking is available on site.
An entrance ticket will be required to visit the Universal Exhibition. Depending on your wishes, you can get an Expo Pass for one, two or three days. Some even offer a transfer from your hotel, or even a guided tour in French! The ticket price is relatively affordable: from 23 euros for a 1-day pass.
You can opt for a one-day guided tour of Expo Dubai 2020 that will take you to the main expo sites.
If you want a turnkey stay, many travel agencies even offer you complete packages including the flight, accommodation on site as well as entrances to the Expo.

What to see during the Dubai World Expo?
During the six months that will last the Universal Exhibition of Dubai, you will be able to discover many exhibitions distributed within pavilions. Each participating country (around 190) has its own pavilion, with innovative and original architecture. The universal exhibition will be a unique opportunity to discover the greatest innovations of the world and to discover the cultures of each country in one and the same place.
The Pavilion of France, for example, will have the theme “Lights, Light”. At the heart of the “mobility” district, it will constitute an exceptional showcase to bear witness to French cultural, political, social and economic actions in favor of the future.
Several partners will also have their own flag: the United Arab Emirates, the port company DP World as well as the Emirates National Oil Company (national oil company of the United Arab Emirates).
Three special pavilions will be entirely dedicated to the three themes addressed during this exhibition:
- the Sustainability Pavilion (Terra) will address the issue of sustainable development. Equipped with 4 solar panels and energy trees, it will be able to produce 912 GWh of electricity per year
- the Mobility Pavilion will present the largest elevator in the world (more than 160 people can enter it!). A 330-meter track will allow you to discover a multitude of innovative mobility devices
- the Opportunity Pavilion will advocate the importance of individual actions at the heart of the community, for a better future.
Throughout your visit to the Dubai World Expo, shops and restaurants will offer you the opportunity to discover the gastronomy and the various designer brands from most countries in the world.
All the exhibitions that will take place throughout the event will seduce you and lead you to reflect on the advances of Humanity and the individual and collective initiatives to be carried out to improve the world of tomorrow.
