Need inspiration for traveling in Europe? Do you want to travel to Europe but have no ideas? Today I'm talking to you about best destinations in Europe. After visiting many cities and countries, I tell you about my favorite destinations in Europe. Why are these places my favourites? Because of their beauty, the activities to do, the things to see, their particularities! Destinations for a city trip of a few days or for a road trip of several days, here are some of the most beautiful destinations in Europe.
Andalusia, an incredible region steeped in history
Let's start with one of my favorite destinations in Europe, a region that I have been able to discover on several occasions and which I recently told you about in my article dedicated to preparing a road trip in Andalusia. Indeed, Andalusia is, for me, one of the best destinations in Europe. Several reasons for this. Andalusia is a region that can be visited almost all year round. Indeed, the region enjoys a particularly mild climate. Even if the inland is to be avoided during the months of July-August, Andalusia can be visited all year round.
The beauty of Andalusia has made its reputation. The cities have a fascinating history, in particular because they have seen many invaders settle, all of whom have left their mark. Its main monuments, such as the Cathedral of Seville, the Alcazar, the gardens of the Alhambra or the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba bear witness to this atypical past.
Andalusian culture with its famous dance, flamenco, gastronomy and bullfighting have also contributed to making Andalusia one of the most beautiful destinations in Europe.
Rome, a must-see destination in Europe
Rome, a destination that needs no introduction. The Italian capital is one of the most visited cities in Europe after Paris and London. Rome, too, has an incredible history. We no longer count the number of its historical monuments classified as World Heritage by UNESCO. The Colosseum, the Trevi fountain, the Forum have made Rome an essential city in Europe.
Its many places but also the Italian gastronomy, one of the best in the world, are to be discovered without delay in Rome. If you visit Rome, you should not miss the famous Vatican City. On the practical side, there are many hotels in Rome that will allow you to find accommodation without difficulty. You can, for example, go to the Trivago website to take advantage of the best hotel offers in Rome.
Krakow, one of the most beautiful destinations in Eastern Europe
Now let's take the eastern route to Poland. Let me tell you about a city that particularly surprised me: Krakow. Krakow is a city that is relatively little talked about, in the shadow of other big cities in the East like Budapest or Prague, Krakow is a little less touristy and that's good! This will give you plenty of time to discover the city, which also has a fascinating history. Remember, however, that Krakow's main square was recently voted one of the most beautiful squares in Europe!
In addition to the beauty of its city center, the surroundings of Krakow make the destination one of the most interesting in this ranking. First of all, from Krakow you can visit Auschwitz, the concentration camps of the Second World War are a testimony of the past that I advise you to visit.
Another place, located a few kilometers from Krakow, is also worth a visit: the Wieliczka Salt Mines, incredible salt mines, among the deepest in Europe, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since the very first list !
Sicily, an exciting road trip in Europe
Let's go back to Italy, in the south of the country, on its largest island: Sicily. Sicily is an ideal destination for a ten-day road trip. The region enjoys particularly mild weather for a good part of the year. “Historical” destination with countless historic towns and monuments such as ancient Greek or Roman temples. Cities like Cefalu, Taormina or Syracuse marked the Mediterranean region in antiquity. Sicily is also a nature destination, with many beaches, natural parks and above all volcanoes! Etna, of course, but it is also the Aeolian Islands with famous islands like Stromboli or Vulcano which attract many tourists.
Budapest, the other must-see in Eastern Europe
Capital of Hungary, Budapest is a city that has been attracting crowds for a few years. A wealthy city that offers a significant number of things to see and do. His must-see places? The Fishermen's Bastion or the Hungarian Parliament. Budapest does not lack things to do, its baths, for example, are typical places of the city. Those of Szecheenyi are the most famous and the most touristic. Another essential activity of this destination: the cruise on the Danube, in the evening, this will allow you to contemplate the illuminated monuments bordering the river.
Lisbon, an increasingly popular destination
Direction of Southern Europe, in Portugal to discover its capital: Lisbon. An increasingly touristic city, Lisbon is a city that deserves to be discovered. Lower prices than in France or in some European countries allow you to fully enjoy the pleasures of Lisbon. Evidenced by the number of hotels in Lisbon which continues to increase. Lisbon, its old quarter: the Alfama, is also a neighborhood to choose from if you are looking for a hotel in Lisbon. Here you will find some of the most beautiful hotels in Lisbon. There are many things to see in Lisbon, its Castelo Sao Jorge, its cathedral, its main square or its famous Santa Justa elevator.
Not far from Lisbon is the city of Belem, a must for a stay in Lisbon.
Venice, the best destination in Europe?
Let's finish our ranking of best destinations in Europe by what is certainly one of the most beautiful cities in Europe: Venice. Venice, its canals, its gondolas but also its Saint Mark's Square and its unmissable Doge's Palace. Venice attracts millions of tourists every year, especially during its carnival, one of the most famous in the world! Venice is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful destinations in Europe, nicknamed the city of lovers, Venice can be visited perfectly during a city trip of 3 to 4 days. Enjoy the center of Venice but also its Lido beach and its Murano and Burano islands famous for their glass manufacturing.
