5 emerging destinations to discover in Europe

European cities you wouldn't have thought of visiting

Do you dream of going on a trip abroad this summer? Here are 5 destinations in Europe that are worth a visit and which are welcoming more and more tourists. And not to spoil anything, all these cities are easily accessible by low-cost companies or by bus (we found excellent prices on Omio for example).

Skopje, the crossroads of Europe in Macedonia

The Old Bazaar in Skopje, the Turkish quarter of the city, is not to be missed for its typical oriental ambiance. A little further you will find a large covered market and the Stone Bridge connecting the Turkish quarter to the European quarter. Change of universe: large buildings, beautiful statues and fountains.

The walk continues from Place Macédoine to the Pont des Arts, the heart of the city. If nature is your thing, the Millenium Cross hike and the Matka Canyon, 14 kilometers from Skopje, are perfect getaways.

Glasgow, a cultural journey in Scotland

Start at the Riverside Museum to learn about the history of transport in Glasgow and Scotland. You can't visit the city without walking in the footsteps of the great Scottish artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The Glasgow School of Art, Mackintosh House and the Willow Tearooms are unique places designed by the artist.

The statue of the Duke, Duke Wellington and his cone on his head is unmissable. A very cultural city, Glasgow has a must-see museum: the Kelvingrove Art Gallery. It is one of the largest in Scotland.
Finally, indulge in some shopping at the iconic Barras market.

Sofia, a piece of history in Bulgaria

The Bulgarian capital is home to the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, recognizable by its large golden domes in the city center. The Monument to the Soviet Army, which has been altered by many Bulgarian street artists, is not to be missed.

The walk in the district of Bojana is worth the detour for its famous church classified in the heritage of Unesco. Don't leave the city without admiring the ancient Roman heritage as well as the regal splendor of the park and the palace of Vrana.

Panchavero Lake is ideal for strolling and relaxing at the end of your stay.

Bratislava, all the charm of Slovakia

Along the Danube, Bratislava is worth a detour with its historic center and Art Nouveau facades. The central square, Hlavné námestie, has a lot of charm with its Maximilian fountain, the oldest in the city.

The town hall and the Kutscherfeld Palace are not to be missed. The churches of Bratislava are beautiful buildings to discover as well as the various museums such as the National Museum of Slovakia and the Bratislava Castle Museum to give yourself a cultural break.

While strolling through the historic city center, you will come across many funny statues such as “the man at work”, Čumil.

Porto or authentic Portugal

In the heart of the city, the Avenue des Aliados, the Ribeira district and the Sao Bento train station, are unmissable for their magnificent murals.

For lunch, take a break at the Bolhao Market. Do not miss the highest bell tower in the country: the Clérigos tower which offers a panorama over the whole city and the Sé do Porto cathedral.

Take a cultural break with the Lello bookstore, one of the most beautiful in the world. Finally, don't forget the Stock Exchange Palace and its Pátio das Naçoes for the incredible beauty of its building.
